Some say paintball guns are not ideal for self-defense because they are minimally painful and can sit unused for years before needed. However, others say that paintball guns can be used as non-lethal self-defense weapons and can be more freely used than real firearms. Above is a  paintball gun that can be used for self-defense:

.68 caliber solid balls are projectiles used in paintball, riot control, and as a non-lethal deterrent. They are often made from PVC and nylon coated to make them unbreakable. They are also known as “standard” or “traditional” paintballs and are larger than .50 caliber paintballs, measuring about 0.68 inches in diameter. Because of their size, they can carry more paint, which results in a larger splatter when they hit their target.
